Brookside Farm was established in 1771 and has been in the Hazen family ownership ever since. It originated as a sheep farm and later became a well-respected and high producing Jersey dairy farm. After a fire in 1963 the farm was leased to local farmers for haying purposes. In the early 1980s it became a beef and vegetable operation. In 1994 it was converted to the horse boarding facility it is today. The farm has improved and grown over the years with the addition of two outdoor arenas, the indoor arena in 2004 and a cross country field that is constantly expanding.
